Administrator - Respiratory Therapy Operations Manager, RRT

Position Overview

This leadership role holds full accountability for the operational flow, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Respiratory Services department. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with the Director to advance program development, quality improvement, financial management, and staff development initiatives. Serving as a mentor and clinical resource, this individual fosters a supportive and professional environment for respiratory care staff and interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Respiratory Services department ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Lead recruitment, retention, and supervision of licensed and unlicensed respiratory care personnel.
• Assist in budget planning and financial oversight for the department.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required or must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer.

Experience

• Minimum of two years progressive leadership or supervisory experience in respiratory care or related healthcare setting.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure valid in the region.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Additional Requirements

• Strong communication and organizational skills with proficiency in word processing and database software.
• Successful completion of physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
