We currently have both Ophthalmologists and Optometrists in every ophthalmic subspecialty are highly respected in the region and have superb relationships with referring colleagues and health systems. Patients travel to Wheaton Eye Clinic from throughout Northern Illinois, as well as from across the United States. Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - In office. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE ROLE.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Answers all incoming calls into the department and assists patients with scheduling surgery and answering surgery-related questions
• Schedules all procedures, diagnostic testing, and consults as ordered by the physicians
• Assists with precertification and authorization for surgery and ancillary testing
• Provide timely and accurate information and quality customer service to incoming patient inquiries
• Resolves patient issues and consistently meets or exceeds patients' service expectations
• Follows all rules and procedures of the organization's compliance and HIPAA program

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-year call center, customer service or switchboard experience required
• Knowledge of Epic EMR highly preferred
• Experience scheduling surgeries preferred
• Medical office experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Insurance experience with knowledge of preauthorization processes preferred
