Job Description

The machine operator operates and monitors a high-volume bottling production line to ensure accurate, efficient, and consistent output. This role involves reading and following detailed job instructions, handling materials, documenting work, and supporting smooth production flow while adhering to established standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Accurately read, interpret, and execute job instructions for each production run.
• Operate the bottling line and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Load materials onto the production line and monitor operations to maintain an even flow of product.
• Perform general production tasks to ensure the bottling line runs smoothly and meets quality standards.
• Remove and separate defective materials or products, and document and report issues according to procedures.
• Label, package, and palletize finished products for storage or shipment as required.
• Complete all required documentation of work, using both paper forms and computer systems.
• Monitor material levels throughout the shift to prevent shortages and interruptions.
• Resupply the production line and initiate restock notifications in a timely manner to avoid work stoppages.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines at all times.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support production goals.
• Work extended hours when necessary to meet production demands.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in production or manufacturing environments.
• Experience as a machine operator or production line worker.
• Ability to operate and monitor a bottling line or similar production equipment.
• Strong attention to detail when reading, interpreting, and executing job instructions.
• Capability to perform general production tasks including packing, picking, and packaging.
• Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and pace.
• Basic computer skills for documenting work completion and entering production data.
• Ability to follow SOPs and established processes accurately.
• Reliability in monitoring material levels and initiating restock notifications.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials on a production line.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous bottling line experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing chemicals, test kits, or similar products is an advantage.
• Experience in roles such as bottler, picker/packer, line worker, machine operator, or general production worker.
• Familiarity with packaging, labeling, and palletizing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with a team of operators.
• Willingness to learn new processes and cross-train in related production areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, MD.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
