Operations Research Analyst - Level 2 or Level 3

Northrop Grumman Space Sector seeks an Operations Research Analyst - Level 2 or Level 3 , to join our team. The preferred location for this role is Redondo Beach CA . We may consider other major Northrop Grumman Space sector locations. This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or 3. In This Job, You Will Lead data (internal research) driven costing strategies, analysis and solutions for complex capture and business shaping efforts. Develop estimating factors, regression analysis and estimating relationships from company data. Support Analysis-of-Alternatives (AoAs), Business Case Analyses (BCAs), affordability initiatives, should-cost exercises, engineering trade analyses and Design-to-Cost (DTC). Initiate and lead cost studies to generate metrics and analysis for business use. Organize and estimate new efforts generating ROMs, BPEs, or cost targets for large/complex efforts. Perform data collection, normalization, and analysis. Utilize proprietary and commercial models and software tools. Provide data visualization and relational analysis. Develop and manage relationships with technical (engineering) staff. Supporting the Sector historical cost and technical database. Identifying and evaluating risk and opportunities in cost estimates, terms and conditions, and all other business management related functions. Support and assist Independent Cost Evaluations (ICE) in support of the company-wide governance and risk management process. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of professional experience in Cost Modeling and Data Engineering – OR – Master’s degree with 1+ years of professional experience in Cost Modeling and Data Engineering. Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience in Cost Modeling and Data Engineering – OR – Master’s degree with 3+ years of professional experience in Cost Modeling and Data Engineering. Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of functions and people. Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access. US Citizenship is a prerequisite. Preferred Qualifications STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree preferred. Demonstrated experience in business management and labor and non-labor cost estimating. Experience working in space systems programs. Experience with parametric estimating techniques and principles. Experience using industry tools such as SEER, Crystal Ball, ACE-IT, USCM. Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau and/or Power BI. Experience with languages and tools such as R, Python, ML models, etc. Relevant experience including exposures in the cost/business management/ops research world, with a strong knowledge of quantitative risk techniques, cost and risk modeling, and government contracts. Database design/SQL experience. Experience in the aerospace industry. Click the link below: Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $125,200.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $155,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
