About the Position

Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in this specialty License: Active RN license in compliance with NLC guidelines Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Level I or Level II Trauma Experience - Large hospital experience preferred Description: The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will work in a dynamic environment. Team nursing model is utilized, with a ratio of 1:7. Higher ratios may occur but assistance is available from additional staff. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position. On-call duties may be required based on operational needs. Weekend commitment may be necessary, but arrangements can be discussed during the interview. Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility. Pending licenses will not be accepted for this role. All requested time off must be disclosed during the application process. A driver's license is necessary for submission. Experience in trauma care is required. The unit accommodates adults and geriatric patient populations. Typical patient diagnoses include general medical surgical cases. This position requires interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Starting and maintaining IVs, as well as telemetry monitoring, are essential skills. Weekly census is approximately 46 patients with a capacity of 48 beds. Interdisciplinary support consists of physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The facility has a robust support system for patient care.
