Patient Services Specialist

Job Description Summary Will handle most clerical duties associated with a medical clinic. The Patient Services Specialist (PSS) performs front office duties in multiple stations. Each station has distinct job duties which are usually performed by one employee. All PSS staff are expected to assist co‑workers in performing every PSS job duty at all times and to learn and perform all duties of all front office stations. This requires strong attention to detail, copywriting and editing skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to meet time‑sensitive priorities. Position Qualifications & Requirements Education: High School Diploma / GED required. Experience: Experience in the healthcare field is highly preferred. Skills: Strong copywriting and editing, multitasking, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a broad customer focus. Core Capabilities: Analysis & Critical Thinking – problem solving, analysis, decision‑making, planning, time management and organizational skills. Interpersonal Effectiveness – emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation and diversity awareness. Communication Skills – good command of English; second language is an asset. Customer Service & Organizational Awareness – build an engaging culture of quality and operational excellence. Self‑Management – manage time, conflicting priorities, stress and professional development; self‑motivated and a self‑starter. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. Certification / License: Valid state driver’s license. Travel: 26–50% travel; no remote option. Workdays / Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Screenings & Compliance Background, drug, and nicotine screening required prior to employment. All new hires must receive vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, barring an approved exemption. Drug‑free workplace; drug/nicotine testing required.
