Peritoneal Dialysis Experience Rn Wanted - Full Time 40 Hours Week

As a Home Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (HHD RN) and Peritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse (PD RN) you will educate patients on how to do their own dialysis from their homes. You will also be responsible for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their treatment stays on track.

Job Function

• Administering dialysis treatments to patients according to their individual treatment plans
• Monitoring patient health during treatment sessions for signs of complications or problems
• Monitoring fluid levels in patients’ bodies to ensure that they are getting enough fluid to prevent dehydration or too much fluid which can lead to overload of the heart or lungs
• Collecting and testing blood samples to monitor patients’ health during treatment
• Educating patients about the effects of their treatment and providing emotional support during treatment sessions
• Performing tests to measure kidney function such as creatinine clearance, urea reduction ratio, and osmolality
• Maintaining sterile environments by wearing gowns, gloves, and masks when working with patients who have infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS or hepatitis C
• Preparing patients for dialysis by cleaning the peritoneal cavity where the fluid will be circulated during treatment
• Educating patients on the importance of following their treatment plan and making sure their home environment is safe and secure
• Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
• Supervising dialysis techs.
