Nuclear Medicine Technologist

New hire sign on bonus of up to $30,000 and relocation assistance of up to $7,000 available. HOURS: Approx 6:00 am start time with flex by a couple of hours with notice. Weekends off with one day during the week off. Weekday off may rotate with notice. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist:

• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain images and test results.
• Administers diagnostic and therapeutic doses to patients under the direction of an authorized user by IV, inhalation and ingestion.
• Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures, correlating patient history with test to be performed.
• May assist with scheduling, registration, image management and computer processing for patients.
• Evaluates, prepares and observes patients with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.
• Interacts with other staff, patients, physicians, families, family members/visitors, management, ancillary departments and general public.
• Interacts with patients, families and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.
• Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to age and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
• Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Enhances personal and professional growth through participating in educational opportunities.
