Position Summary:

As the Lead Cook, you play a pivotal role in the kitchen, overseeing culinary operations and contributing to the creation of a high-quality dining experience. Your responsibilities include executing cooking tasks, leading kitchen staff, and ensuring adherence to culinary standards. With a focus on efficiency and precision, you collaborate with the Sous Chef to maintain kitchen operations at the highest level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute cooking tasks in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.

• Supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.

• Collaborate with the Sous Chef in menu planning and kitchen organization.

• Monitor food preparation to guarantee freshness, taste, and presentation.

• Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stock rotation.

• Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques and safety protocols.

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Collaborate with the Sous Chef to develop new dishes and enhance menu offerings.

• Assist in the creation of daily specials and promotions.

• Lead by example.

• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The lead Cook oversees kitchen staff and collaborates with the sous chef and the culinary team. Responsibilities include task delegation, training and ensuring the team operates cohesively to meet culinary objectives.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Culinary degree or certification preferred.

• Proven experience as a Cook or Line Cook.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen setting.

• Food safety and TABC certification.

Knowledge Skill and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and best practices.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
