Miramar Cultural Center Bartender

This is an on-call/as needed position (no benefits) supporting the Miramar Cultural Center Theatre as follows: BARTENDER (AS NEEDED) RATE $15.87

Emergency Management Responsibilities: Note: During emergency conditions, all City of Miramar employees are automatically considered emergency service workers. City of Miramar employees are subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.

Essential Functions

Bartender

We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, prepare and serve beverages.

• Follow cash handling procedures in accordance with standards.
• Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for event patrons.
• Interact with event patrons, take orders and serve drinks and appetizers/hors d'oeuvres as required.
• Manage guest sales queries in a timely and efficient manner.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job. Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Physical Demands:

The work requires the ability to exert minimal but not constant physical effort to perform light work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking and may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 25 pounds), visual perception and discrimination, the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, perceive and discriminate color, perceive odors, and require oral communications.

Work Environment: The work is regularly performed in a dynamic environment that requires the need to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Position Requirements/Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual: Spanish or other foreign language skills are beneficial. Previous Food & Beverage and/or industry experience desirable; including working in an outdoor environment with exposure to various weather conditions. Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations, Cash handling and basic computer literacy are preferred.
