Athletic Trainer

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Athletic Trainer to join our Orthopedic & Sports Specialists Clinic . In this position, you will support clinic workflow, provide expert care to athletes, and deliver high-quality athletic training services for both internal and external contracts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with clinic workflow, including patient triage, rooming patients, bracing/casting, and home exercise instruction.

• Performing athletic training services in clinic and through external contracts with local high schools or colleges.

• Evaluating athlete injuries and readiness to return to play; providing participation clearances as appropriate.

• Conducting initial assessments and determining if referral to a physician is needed.

• Caring for athletic injuries using approved physical therapy techniques and equipment.

• Monitoring athlete recovery and communicating progress to coaches or physicians.

• Completing administrative tasks such as documentation, writing reports, and managing referrals.

• Ensuring compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines in the clinic setting.

• Supporting the Orthopedics team with coordination, communication, and care continuity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor of Science degree or Masters degree required.

Experience:

• 1-2 years experience preferred in athletic training or a related clinical setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to evaluate athletic injuries and determine readiness to return to play.

• Skill in conducting initial injury assessments and providing appropriate treatment or referrals.

• Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and athletic training best practices.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with athletes, coaches, physicians, and school personnel.

• Competency in completing reports, maintaining medical records, and handling sensitive information.

Licensure, Registration, or Certification:

• Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification .

• Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts .
