Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend Experience: Two (2) years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Acute care nursing experience - Patient assessment skills - Care plan development experience - Care plan implementation experience - Clinical intervention monitoring skills Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the established Model of Care, the RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and in mentoring/precepting staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary services is essential. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and functions as a mentor/preceptor. The RN demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. The RN identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement. Participation in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts is expected. The RN implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. The RN participates in the established Practice Governance model.
