Position Summary The Cardiovascular Technologist (Special Procedures Tech) is responsible for performing the necessary skills and techniques during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures under the scope of practice. The technologist identifies and maintains patient safety related to radiation exposure and safety. The position rotates between scrub and monitor and requires on‑call readiness with a 30‑minute response time. Department Procedures Coronary angiogram/angioplasty Peripheral angiogram/angioplasty Neuro interventional angiogram/angioplasty Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) and thoracic vessel repair Neuro coronary peripheral pulmonary thrombectomy Central/port placement and removal Electrophysiology procedures including ablation Cardiac rhythm management (CRM) procedures Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) Cardioversion Required Qualifications Degree from an accredited radiologic technologist school Current ARRT license, California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license, and California fluoroscopy license Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire Minimum of one year acute‑care experience Full command of the English language (verbal and written) Ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position Skill, knowledge, and ability essential to successfully perform assigned duties Customer‑service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system Preferred Qualifications Experience in cardiac cath lab, interventional radiology, or special procedures; diagnostic experience considered Knowledge of university and medical‑center policies, procedures, and forms Total Rewards UCI Health offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical insurance, sick and vacation time, retirement savings plans, and access to discounts and perks.
