Program Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Program Engineer to join our Engineering department in West Palm Beach, FL, to support the Atlantic Undersea Testing and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. The Program Engineer will act as the primary point of contact for NUWC, US Navy, and contractor personnel in planning and conducting testing on the AUTEC test ranges and reports directly to the Test Planning Manager. A U.S. Secret Security Clearance is required and U.S. Citizenship is mandatory to obtain the clearance. Essential Duties Evaluate assigned test support requirements and determine best methods for accomplishing all aspects of each program/test within existing AUTEC capabilities to satisfy customer needs. Define new capabilities or additional resources if required. Accountable for cost control management and technical instruction tasking guidance related to test support and assigned projects. Monitor costs and expenditures of all departments supporting test activities and coordinate funding status with NUWC SME and Contractor Finance. Lead and coordinate ISO assigned programs/tests, arrange required shore facility support, test asset preparation/modification, shipping, staging, HAZMAT/HAZWASTE management, pre‑post‑test logistics, and ensure return and restoration of AUTEC assets. Schedule contractor assets, personnel, and AUTEC resources through the Contractor Range Scheduler and ensure commitments are met. Generate and publish written operational documents to communicate scheduled events, support requirements, and contractor readiness. Update and maintain test support documents as schedules or requirements change. Develop, promulgate and maintain standing test plans for ISO ongoing test programs. Travel as required to attend or participate in ISO program/test planning conferences and events. Maintain responsibility for provided USG vehicle and cell phone during duty and follow AUTEC protocols. Accept delegation of support activities and other tasks from the Test Planning Manager. Minimum Requirements BS/BA in Science, Business, Project Management or equivalent. Five years of project or program management experience supporting test and range operations (e.g., Test Conductor, FORACS Engineer, Acoustics Engineer, System Controller, Range Safety Advisor, or supervisory roles in Marine Services or Range Services). Military service in a relevant technical field may substitute for the degree. Computer literacy in a Windows environment; must produce documentation using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Advanced written and oral communication skills. Excellent customer relations and interface skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate workload. Capability to work independently and as part of a diverse team with contractor, Range User, Navy, and NUWC personnel. Flexibility, professionalism, and decisiveness in a real‑time changing environment. Visual acuity sufficient for computer screens; must walk up and down a single‑floor stairwell. Must be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required. Valid U.S. passport and driver’s license. Knowledge of acoustical, in‑air, in‑water tracking systems, communications systems, and data products. Must be willing to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities. Compensation Estimated salary: $90,000. Compensation may vary based on responsibilities, education, experience, and market data.
