Instructional Systems DesignerInstructional Systems Designer (ISD) Location: Colorado Springs, CO (Remote) Travel: Occasional travel required Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Salary: $80,000-$105,000 (based on education, experience and clearance level)About the Role: Leading Solutions is seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in delivering world-class military training programs for approximately 4,200 cadets annually.In this role, you will help design, develop, and continuously improve instructional materials that support the Academy's 47-month military training continuum. Working closely with USAFA leadership and program stakeholders, you will develop engaging, mission-focused training solutions that align with Department of the Air Force readiness objectives and prepare future Air Force officers for operational success.If you are passionate about instructional design, curriculum development, and creating meaningful learning experiences, we'd love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop courseware, instructional unit plans, lesson materials, training products, and learning activities that support USAFA military training objectives.Translate Government-provided training outcomes into effective, executable instructional content and remediation strategies.Review and analyze existing Programs of Instruction (POIs), lesson plans, exercise scenarios, training schedules, Terminal Learning Objectives (TLOs), Enabling Learning Objectives (ELOs), and evaluation criteria.Develop realistic training scenarios that support operational learning objectives.Align curriculum and courseware with required personnel, facilities, equipment, training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations (TADSS), transportation, and other support resources.Collaborate with USAFA personnel and project team members to ensure courseware, planning assumptions, instructional resources, and evaluation requirements remain synchronized.Develop and maintain resource plans for recurring, modified, and emerging training events.Integrate assessment tools into instructional materials to measure learning effectiveness.Analyze assessment results, After Action Reviews (AARs), and other performance data to recommend improvements to curriculum, training scenarios, instructor preparation, and remediation plans.Support instructional design, curriculum updates, and program improvement efforts through onsite, remote, travel-based, or corporate reach-back support as required.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Training, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).5–8 years of professional experience as an Instructional Systems Designer.Experience developing instructional materials, courseware, curricula, lesson plans, and Programs of Instruction (POIs).Experience applying the ADDIE instructional design methodology.Experience integrating assessments into instructional programs and using performance data to improve training effectiveness.Experience supporting program evaluations, After Action Reviews (AARs), and continuous process improvement initiatives.Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative training environment.Experience supporting Moodle, TUTOR, or comparable Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.Preferred QualificationsInstructional Systems Design (ISD) certification.Experience supporting military training, Department of Defense (DoD), or higher education instructional programs.Familiarity with military training doctrine, curriculum development, or operational training environments.Other Qualifications:Frequent use of hands and arms; prolonged sitting may be required.Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.Ability to interpret instructions involving multiple abstract and concrete variables.Leading Solutions is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
