We are seeking a skilled Welder (Stick) .

you will be responsible for performing shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), commonly known as stick welding, to assemble, repair, and fabricate metal components in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and proficiency with various measuring instruments and hand tools. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality metal fabrication projects across diverse industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements
• Perform shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) using appropriate techniques to join metal materials securely
• Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate dimensions and weld quality
• Prepare workpieces by cutting, grinding, and cleaning using plasma cutters, power tools, and hand tools
• Fabricate sheet metal components and assemble parts according to specifications while adhering to safety protocols
• Maintain equipment by inspecting welders, power tools, and measuring instruments regularly
• Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
• Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving mechanical assembly and metal materials
• Ensure compliance with American Welding Society (AWS) standards and shop math principles during all welding activities

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities involving metal fabrication
• Demonstrated proficiency in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and TIG welding techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately
• Familiarity with fabrication shop processes including plasma cutting, machining, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication
• Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by the ability to use calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and hand tools effectively
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and handling of metal materials
• Experience working with crane operations or understanding crane safety is a plus
• Basic math skills including shop math for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high-quality standards
• Commitment to continuous learning of AWS standards, welding best practices, and safety regulations

Pay rate: $25 to $30 an hour.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am to 5 pm.
