Our estimating team plays a critical role in that success by delivering accurate, competitive proposals that become profitable, well-executed projects.We offer a competitive salary from $65,000 to $80,000 commensurate with experience, company-wide bonuses, excellent low deductible health insurance, 401(k) with company match, career growth opportunities, and a collaborative culture where expertise is valued.  WHAT YOU'LL DOAs an Estimator II, you'll independently manage standard commercial project bids, coordinate across departments, and continuously improve estimating processes to develop accurate, competitive proposals.Responsibilities include:Independently estimate storefront, curtain wall, interior glazing, entrances, and other standard commercial glazing projects Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to develop complete and competitive proposals Identify scope requirements, clarifications, exclusions, and potential project risks before bid submission Prepare accurate material takeoffs, labor estimates, and proposal documentation Develop competitive supplier pricing and evaluate product alternatives when appropriate Collaborate with architects, general contractors, owners, Sales, Project Managers, and Operations throughout the estimating process Provide organized project turnover information following project award to support successful execution Assist with onboarding and mentoring newer estimators while sharing estimating best practices. Attend sales events and tradeshows.Recommend improvements to estimating tools, workflows, and documentation that improve consistency and efficiency  WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFULYou are someone who:Enjoys solving construction challenges and finding practical solutions Has strong blueprint and specification interpretation skills Makes sound business decisions while balancing competitiveness and profitability Produces consistently accurate, complete estimates with minimal supervision Effectively manages multiple bids, priorities, and deadlines Builds productive relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams Takes ownership of projects from bid invitation through project handoff Enjoys sharing knowledge and helping newer estimators succeed Looks for opportunities to improve estimating quality and processes  QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred. 3–5 years of commercial estimating experience Experience estimating commercial glazing, storefront, curtain wall, interior glazing, or architectural glass systemsDemonstrated ability to independently prepare accurate estimates for standard commercial construction projects with minimal supervision Strong understanding of commercial construction documents, specifications, blueprint interpretation, and quantity takeoff skills Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel; experience with GDS, PartnerPak, Glazier Studio, or similar estimating software preferred  WHY MINNEAPOLIS GLASS?For nearly 90 years, Minneapolis Glass has been a trusted partner to contractors, architects, and owners throughout the Midwest.
