Own manufacturing engineering for a high volume electronics materials site outside Chicago, where Lean and Six Sigma work is funded, visible, and tied directly to production lines that ship.

• Product lines span wafer level packaging, circuitry solutions, electronics assembly, advanced materials and joining, film and smart surface solutions, and specialty inks and pastes.
• Customers sit across automotive, consumer electronics, mobile devices, telecom, data storage, infrastructure, and AI.
• This seat sits in the Packaging and Board Assembly division at the Itasca, Illinois site.

The opportunity

• Support manufacturing operations across the full product lifecycle, from development through scale up and sustaining production.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives that move cost, quality, and efficiency, rather than running improvement work as a side project.
• Own process changes, validation, and equipment qualification, so the work has a real footprint on the floor.
• Partner across R and D, quality, and operations as the manufacturing voice in cross functional decisions.

What you will own

• Support product development by ensuring manufacturability, quality, and scalability.
• Provide manufacturing input, assess risks, and support project execution.
• Monitor KPIs, troubleshoot issues, and drive data driven improvements.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve cost, quality, and efficiency.
• Manage process changes, validation, and equipment qualification.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop work instructions and train operations staff.
• Plan and qualify tooling and equipment to support production.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in semiconductor or another highly regulated industry.
• Hands on experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
• Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), PFMEA, DOE, process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and process capability analysis.
• Experience in fast paced, high volume production environments.
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations, contamination control, and regulatory standards.

Bonus points

• AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SQL, or JDE.
• Formal structured problem solving methodology.
• Six Sigma certification.

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary: $78,906 to $100,000 per year.
