Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (12-Hour Days)

Spokane, WA | Acute Care – Level 3 Trauma Center Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Shift start times may include 0700, 1100, 1200, 1400, or 1900 | Every-other-weekend rotation expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed Emergency Department managing a diverse patient population including psych, trauma, general medical, sepsis, cardiac, stroke, abdominal pain, and chest pain cases
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–5, with potential for 1:5–6 with lower acuity patients depending on assignment type
• Perform and assist with RSI, conscious sedation, and management of lines, drains, and tubes
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, CNA/ER techs, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and mid-level providers available around the clock
• Document accurately using EPIC EMR (required for all RNs)
• Participate in weekend rotations and holiday coverage as needed per unit schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Room experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma center (specific requirement varies by traveler type; first-time travelers considered with qualifying background)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), TNCC (or ATCN), NIHSS
• MOAB/CPI certification preferred prior to start; may be obtained after start
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• Demonstrated competency in general ER skills including RSI, conscious sedation, and lines/drains/tubes

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma center with high-acuity and behavioral health patient populations
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, both bedside and centralized
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency environment with a collaborative team model
