Location: Midland, Texas 

Position Summary

• The Inspection Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of inspection equipment and support machinery used in pipe yard operations. 

• This position ensures all inspection systems, hydraulic power units, hydro testers, cleaning machines, bucking units, forklifts, utility vehicles, and related equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational.

• The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills and have experience performing routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment inspections in an industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all inspection and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Maintain and repair EMI inspection equipment and associated support systems.
• Service and maintain pipe cleaning machines, hydrotest units, bucking machines, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic power units (HPUs), pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings.
• Perform routine oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication programs.
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage, leaks, and safety concerns.
• Maintain forklifts, Kubota utility vehicles, generators, compressors, and other support equipment.
• Replace bearings, chains, sprockets, belts, rollers, seals, and other mechanical components.
• Read hydraulic schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize operational downtime.
• Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and equipment inspection reports.
• Coordinate with operations personnel to schedule repairs and maintenance activities.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance parts, fluids, and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance or heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems and hydraulic power units.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of lubrication systems, oil changes, and fluid management.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Preferred

• Experience in pipe yards, oilfield service facilities, machine shops, or industrial maintenance.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Forklift maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of EMI inspection equipment and hydrotesting systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience involving motors, sensors, and control systems.
• OSHA safety training or industrial maintenance certifications.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely work around heavy machinery and moving equipment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools for extended periods.

Working Conditions

• Industrial pipe yard environment.
• Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, hydraulic fluids, lubricants, and varying weather conditions.
• Occasional overtime, weekend work, and emergency call-outs may be required.
