Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level III NICU setting across 13 private rooms, following AWHONN staffing guidelines with typical ratios of 1:2, occasional 1:1, and 1:3 for feeder/grower infants
• Attend deliveries and complete newborn admissions as part of unit expectations
• Assist Mother Baby unit as needed, including lab draws, CCHD screenings, car seat studies, circumcision assistance, and neonatal assignments of up to 6 infants
• Manage and monitor respiratory support equipment including bubble CPAP, HFNC, BCPAP, NIPPV, and ventilators
• Float between two nearby campuses as needed and may serve as a Resource Nurse to support Mother Baby staff
• Precept new staff as needed by the unit

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Level III or Level IV NICU experience
• Proficiency with NC, HFNC, BCPAP, mechanical ventilators, chest tubes, UVC, UAC, and care of ELBW infants
• Current BLS certification (must be up to date prior to start)
• Current NRP – Advanced certification (must be up to date prior to start)
• Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification (must be up to date prior to start)
• Active RN licensure in the state of Texas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Delivery room experience highly preferred
• Experience with common NICU diagnoses including PPHN, prematurity (25–34 weeks), hypoglycemia, and respiratory support management
• Familiarity with couplet care models and collaborative neonatal consultation workflows
