Multiple full-time Special Education Teacher positions are available at schools throughout the Charlotte, North Carolina area and surrounding communities for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year. These opportunities span different grade levels, classroom settings, and student populations, allowing licensed Exceptional Children (EC) teachers to explore positions that best align with their experience and teaching preferences.

Available assignments vary by school and may include elementary, middle, or high school positions in resource, inclusion, general curriculum, or adapted curriculum settings. Caseload sizes, student needs, and classroom responsibilities differ by position and will be discussed with candidates based on their qualifications and interests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized and differentiated instruction based on individual student needs and IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Monitor student progress and use assessment data to guide instructional decisions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning and goal development
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and student records
- Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Support students in developing academic, behavioral, social, and functional skills

QUALIFICATIONS

- Active North Carolina Exceptional Children (EC) teaching license appropriate for the assigned Special Education position required
- Previous Special Education or school-based teaching experience preferred
- Experience in resource, inclusion, general curriculum, or adapted curriculum settings preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and Special Education best practices
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to effectively support students with diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
