Job Description

This role focuses on repairing, constructing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining routine electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. The electrician works with control systems, industrial infrastructure, and production equipment, ensuring all electrical components operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards. This Level position typically requires five years of related experience, along with a high school diploma or GED and preferably a certification in the assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Repair, construct, install, troubleshoot, and maintain routine electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment.

• Modify, align, calibrate, design, program, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including control systems and a wide variety of industrial infrastructure and production machinery.

• Cut, thread, bend, couple, and strap conduit as required for electrical installations and modifications.

• Pull and route wiring safely and efficiently to support new installations and system upgrades.

• Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and diagnose issues in circuits, wiring, and equipment to restore proper operation.

• Inspect electrical circuits and wiring for proper shielding and grounding to ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Test electrical equipment and systems for safety, reliability, and efficiency, documenting findings and corrective actions as needed.

• Collaborate with other trades and team members in a shipyard or industrial setting to support production and facility operations.

• Follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and industry best practices when working with electrical systems and tools.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated experience repairing, constructing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining routine electrical systems and equipment.

• Ability to modify, align, calibrate, design, program, install, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including control systems and industrial production equipment.

• Proficiency with electrical wiring techniques, including pulling, routing, and terminating wires in industrial environments.

• Skilled in cutting, threading, bending, coupling, and strapping conduit for electrical installations.

• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical malfunctions and resolve issues in circuits, wiring, and equipment.

• Ability to inspect circuits and wiring for proper shielding and grounding to meet safety and performance requirements.

• Capability to test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency using appropriate tools and methods.

• Level 3 electrician experience with approximately 5 years of related work in industrial or shipyard environments.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Ability to work safely and effectively in a shipyard or heavy industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certification in the assigned electrical discipline or trade is preferred.

• Prior experience working in a shipyard environment is highly beneficial.

• Familiarity with industrial control systems and production equipment in large-scale facilities.

• Strong attention to detail when installing, inspecting, and testing electrical systems.

• Ability to work across multiple shifts and adapt to changing production needs.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills in a shop and industrial environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a shop environment at a newly acquired industrial facility in the Charleston/Goose Creek area, formerly W International. Work takes place in a shipyard-style setting with heavy industrial infrastructure and production equipment. You will use standard electrical tools and materials, including conduit, wiring, testing instruments, and control system components. The role operates across multiple shifts, requiring flexibility to work different hours as needed. The environment emphasizes adherence to safety procedures and appropriate industrial work attire suitable for a shop and shipyard setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Goose Creek, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.66 - $37.31/hr.
