Mental Health Technician II

Summary:
Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed supervisor. Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and well being. Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients. Assists with physical care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or licensed supervsior. Promotes coordination of the unit by completing orders, making phone calls and directing calls and information to the charge nurse.

North Bay Recovery Center (NBRC), Integrated Stabilization Unit (ISU), St. Joseph's Hospital Behavioral Health Center (SJH-BHC) and St. Joseph's Hospital North (SJHN) locations only: Requires use of tight-fitting respirator (TB-Asbestos-Etc). Essential 40% of the time.

Required - 6 months - Psychology; Or - 6 months - Emergency Medical Technician; Or - 6 months - Paramedic; Preferred - 1 year - Unit Secretary.
