Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to support a large-scale enterprise application migration and modernization initiative. This role will play a key part in transitioning legacy systems to modern infrastructure environments while ensuring database performance, integrity, and security. The position also includes ongoing operational support for mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Planning & Execution

Assess existing databases for migration readiness
Plan and execute database migrations across on-premises and cloud environments
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to minimize downtime
Monitor migration processes and troubleshoot issues
Provide technical guidance and documentation during transition efforts
Work closely with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure compatibility

Database Administration, Security & Compliance

Configure, manage, and maintain SQL Server database environments
Perform schema conversions, data transformations, and integrity validation
Optimize database performance during and after migration
Manage roles, permissions, and security configurations
Implement encryption, auditing, and access controls
Ensure compliance with enterprise data security standards

Required Skills

5+ years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA
Experience migrating application databases across versions and platforms
Strong backup and restore expertise
SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience
Experience managing database roles, permissions, and encryption
Advanced T-SQL proficiency

Preferred Skills

Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) implementation
Database design and normalization
PowerShell scripting

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
