Duties include development of current and new programs, including those that involve other therapy disciplines or Reid departments. Administrative functions include marketing activities, staff development, coordinating student affiliations, and general supervision and management. Direct patient care, as needed. The SLP Manager is also responsible for clerical staff management the Richmond OP Clinic.**Overview of Responsibilities*** Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day SLP services for inpatient, ARU, and Richmond OP service locations.* Supervise SLP staff including work schedule assignments, Kronos, continuing education requests, coordinating meetings, etc.* Oversee the supervision of clerical staff including work schedule assignments, Kronos, coordinating meetings, etc.* Provide clinical supervision to therapists and students in clinical and administrative functions and, if needed, regarding patient assessment, implementation of treatment plans and protocols, and decision-making.* Provide supervision at all times by direct contact (in person), by phone, or email during all hours services are provided.* Provide direct supervision of holders of an IN temporary permit as defined by Code 844IAC6-1-2, including a meeting with the actual presence of the supervising therapist or physician at least once each day. All documentation will be co-signed.* Responsible for SLP scheduling functions to ensure adequate time is available to meet patient/program needs and progression of treatments to optimize outcomes.* Assume responsibility to see that new therapy orders are promptly scheduled and notify Director when assistance is needed.* Arrange for patient care items as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining appropriate supply inventory.* Develop and implement current and new programs to continually improve patient quality, satisfaction, safety, and continuum of care.* Participate in and be knowledgeable of QA&I activities.* Assist in promotion and marketing of Rehabilitation Services.* Supervise the designated Site Clinical Coordinator of Education (SCCE) for SLP students.* Schedule and supervise SLP student observations, tours, and volunteers.* Assist in orienting all new department staff according to Human Resource policies.* Responsible for performance appraisals and staff development opportunities.* Responsible for capital/operational budget preparation for SLP services and clerical functions.* Keep Director informed of pertinent departmental occurrences.* Participate in decision-making and meetings with other department managers and Director.* Participate in cross-organizational activities to improve organizational performance.* Foster communication to coordinate internal (hospital) activities.* In the absence of the Director, and at the request of the Director, the SLP Manager will:* a. Approve/disapprove purchase requisitions, check requests, timecards, and other forms as needed.* b. Respond to mail, messages, calls, and questions in a timely manner.* c. Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings and attend Leadership meetings.* Lead the development of care delivery systems within the areas of responsibility to achieve Reid’s strategies objectives for population health management and continuum of care.* Lead and proactively identify strategies to reduce the cost of services through the adoption of evidence-based practice standards.* Engage physicians and staff to develop and consistently improve programs that fulfill the needs of the target population. Drive to consensus.* Assure compliance with life safety measures and standards as outlined by the Indiana Department of Health, DNV, and other regulatory agencies.* Possess the awareness and ability to implement alternative healthcare delivery systems for the patient population served utilizing best practice and care pathways.* Membership and active participation in appropriate professional organizations and community activities.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management deems necessary.**Education & E****xperience*** MA or MS degree in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA accredited educational program.* Minimum of three years clinical experience as a practicing Speech Language Pathologist.* Previous management experience preferred.**Licensure & Certification*** Must be fully certified in Indiana to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.* Basic Life Support certification required.Our values of Excellence, Empathy, Integrity and Accountability are essential to exceed our customers’ expectations.
