Preferred qualifications Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization, or scripting/programming languages such as Python. Experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functionally at various levels. About the job Trust & Safety team members identify and address the biggest challenges to the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know‑how, problem‑solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and partners from abuse across Google products such as Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. As a senior manager, you will embed data‑driven decision‑making into the core of our business strategy, partnering closely with executive leadership across Play and Compute, translating data into actionable insights to shape discussions and guide direction. Responsibilities Lead the evolution of the analytics function by shifting the team's focus from reacting to requests to anticipating business needs, identifying trends, and uncovering new growth opportunities. Act as an advisor to Play and Compute leadership; manage, facilitate, and drive high‑level business discussions, using data to influence strategy, align objectives, and achieve consensus. Advocate a culture of data‑based decision‑making. Mentor and guide a high‑performing analytics team, fostering an environment focused on business impact, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. Develop and implement proactive operational models, leveraging advanced analytics to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and drive sustainable growth within the Play and Compute ecosystems.
