Summary About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist for USSOUTHCOM at the Inter-American Defense College in Washington D.C. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- Serve as the Director of Strategic Communication and External Relations (STRATCOM/ER) for the Director of the Inter-American Defense College (IADC).
- Advise management regarding the formulation and articulation of agency policy pertaining to the release of information to the public.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of information and communication programs to continuously improve the organization.
- Develop and disseminate informational materials to the general public.
- Implement a strategic communications and engagement program to promote the academic excellence offered at IADC, its programs and activities, and the value of the organization to Western Hemispheric security.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all media sources throughout the community.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and/or maintain a secret security clearance.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- Occasional travel will be required.
