• Location: Mason City, Iowa 50401
• Healthcare Setting: On-site cardiothoracic surgery service in a Level II trauma facility
• Start Date: July 6, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks with ongoing locum tenens coverage needs
• Hours: 36 hours per week, plus scheduled call coverage
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Schedule: Weekday clinic coverage with night call; weekends include 24-hour on-call coverage
• Call Ratio: 1:2
• Case Volume: Approximately 125 coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) cases annually
• Openings: 2

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner credential required
• Minimum 2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience required
• Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) experience required
• Active Iowa Nurse Practitioner license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Ability to cover some of the listed dates and ongoing coverage needs
• Clean malpractice and background history required
• Self-query NPDB report, pulled within 30 days of presentation, required

• Provide cardiothoracic surgery support as a Nurse Practitioner in clinic and during call coverage
• Manage weekday clinic coverage and respond to night call as assigned
• Deliver weekend 24-hour on-call coverage when scheduled
• Support cardiothoracic procedures and EVH-related clinical needs
• Collaborate with surgeons and clinical staff to ensure high-quality cardiothoracic patient care
• Contribute to a smooth, efficient workflow in a busy surgical environment
