Position Overview

The Diagnostics Software Services team is seeking two Co-Op Software Integration Engineers to join our team in Akron Ohio starting in Spring 2027. These individuals will be part of a dynamic group of engineers responsible for documenting deploying validating and supporting newborn screening software applications in North American laboratories.

Our team provides software tools that manage our customers laboratory workflow and help enable the early detection of certain life-threatening genetic and metabolic disorders in newborn babies. If detected and treated soon enough most babies will be able to live healthy normal lives. To learn more about newborn screening please visit Software Integration Co-Op position requires constant team and customer this position you will learn how to use configure and support our software work with customers to determine and document their requirements and support their addition you will gain an understanding of the science behind genetic screening.

Position Details

The Software Integration Co-Op position relies on the following tools: Microsoft SQL Server and Visual Basic. It is not a development or programmer position so if you dont have training and/or experience in any of these technologies thats ok. Well work with you on an appropriate training plan - whether your strengths lie with some of the tools we use or you have a strong science background with an interest in computers well find the best fit for you. Whats most important is that you have an interest in the healthcare field as a career!

Basic Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelors degree in a scientific or technical field (Biomedical Engineering Computer Engineering etc.).
• Applicants must hold at least a sophomore status at an accredited university.

Availability:

Ideal candidates will be available for co-op rotations in Spring 2027 Fall 2027 and Summer 2028. We also offer part-time work opportunities during breaks between co-op terms.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $20/hr. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses equity or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
