Research Manager - ISM, Surgery

Description The Research Manager provides operational leadership for the Department of Surgery's research portfolio, overseeing research administration, regulatory compliance, financial management, and clinical trial operations. This individual partners closely with Principal Investigators, research staff, institutional offices, and external sponsors to ensure compliant, efficient, and financially sustainable management of investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored research. The Research Manager is responsible for supporting the full research lifecycle, including study start-up, grant administration, regulatory oversight, financial management, study execution, and closeout. Description The Research Manager provides operational leadership for the Department of Surgery's research portfolio, overseeing research administration, regulatory compliance, financial management, and clinical trial operations. This individual partners closely with Principal Investigators, research staff, institutional offices, and external sponsors to ensure compliant, efficient, and financially sustainable management of investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored research. The Research Manager is responsible for supporting the full research lifecycle, including study start-up, grant administration, regulatory oversight, financial management, study execution, and closeout. Responsibilities Oversees day-to-day research operations across a portfolio of clinical and translational research studies, ensuring projects are completed in accordance with institutional policies, sponsor requirements, GCP, FDA, NIH, and other applicable regulations.
