Professional Counselor - Psych Adult

Professional Counselor – Psych Adult (Part‑time, Variable, Temporary) Providence Portland Medical Center invites applications for a Professional Counselor in the adult psychiatric unit. The candidate will practice in a treatment setting under clinical supervision, focusing on evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric and substance use disorders. Responsibilities include: collaborating with patients and support systems; providing specialized psychotherapy grounded in evidence‑based models (CBT, motivational interviewing, DBT, ACT, recovery model); completing risk assessments for self‑harm or harm to others and implementing risk mitigation plans; and delivering individual, group, and family therapy in multi‑modal treatment settings. Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Counseling or related field. Upon hire: Oregon Professional Counselor License, or Oregon Professional Counselor Associate License (Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors and Therapists). Preferred Qualifications 1 year of Master’s‑level practicum in a behavioral health setting or an accredited college/university internship. Additional experience in substance use treatment setting.
