An established North Carolina contractor is seeking a Director of Construction to lead project delivery, field operations, and project management teams across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects.

With more than 40 years of success, the company has built an outstanding reputation for delivering construction management, general contracting, and owner's representative services throughout the Southeast. Their project portfolio spans healthcare, commercial, manufacturing, institutional, retail, and government sectors, providing a varied and rewarding workload.

This is a key leadership position within a close-knit organization of approximately 50 employees. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, mentoring project teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

As Director of Construction, you will oversee all construction operations and project delivery activities, managing and mentoring Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure projects were completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will provide strategic oversight of schedules, staffing, resources, and overall project performance while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. Furthermore, you will collaborate with executive leadership on business planning, operational improvements, and growth initiatives.

As a Director of Construction, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience leading construction operations for a commercial General Contractor or Construction Management firm
• Strong background managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience overseeing Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
• Commercial construction experience across a range of project types is highly desirable
• Ability to operate effectively within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
