Director Of EngineeringThe Director of Engineering is responsible for planning and managing the shared services, managing the team of engineers and reporting to the Vice President, Engineering. The right candidate is comfortable working with a wide range of technologies, from PHP to Java, from front-end to back-end layers, working in an Agile environment, and providing technical leadership in architecting scalable infrastructures. Responsibilities:Managing and hiring a rock star team of 5-10 engineersWork closely with product managers for the platform team, as well as product managers of different brands in understanding and assessing the needs for shared servicesWork closely with the Chief Architect and a distributed team of domain architects to ensure a cohesive architecture for the shared services as well as smooth adoption and deployment of the services among various brandsBuild consensus on design and move fastManage both legacy and new applications and teamsBe a champion of Agile development and lead the team in overcoming challenges they face along the waySkill set:Skills and Abilities:Solid development experience with PHP, Java, Javascript, Relational and NoSQL databasesExperience in developing RESTful servicesExperience in building large scale websitesExcellent collaboration skills
