Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Nuclear Industry)
\nLocation: Oak Brook, IL
\nPay Rate: $90K-$120K
\nEmployment Type: Direct Hire

\n \nROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
\n \nWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an advanced nuclear reactor engineering team. This would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in mechanical system design and nuclear codes compliance looking to further their career in nuclear energy at a well-funded and rapidly growing start up.
\n \n• Design and optimize mechanical systems including reactor-internal hardware, pressure vessels, and balance-of-plant equipment with regulatory submissions and technical specifications
\n• Provide engineering input on materials selection, fabrication processes, welding techniques, and quality control per ASME and nuclear standards
\n• Ensure compliance with ASME B&PV Code (Sections III/VIII), ASME B31.1, and NRC regulatory requirements
\n• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across reactor engineering, thermal hydraulics, safety, and operations on integrated design solutions
\n• Support licensing and regulatory engagements by providing technical justification and responding to regulatory inquiries
\n \nESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
\n• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
\n• 1–5+ years of mechanical system design experience with ASME code-based design and analysis expertise
\n• Proficiency with engineering CAD (NX, SolidWorks) and mechanical analysis tools for stress, fatigue, thermal, and vibration modeling
\n \nBONUS QUALIFICATIONS
\n• Strong knowledge of ASME B&PV Code (Section III), ASME piping codes, and nuclear regulatory frameworks
\n• Proficiency with analysis tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL
\n• Experience in nuclear, energy, or other highly regulated industries
