Externship Opportunity at Cibolo Small Animal Hospital Cibolo Small Animal Hospital offers up to $1,500 travel stipend for clinical year externships. About the Practice Cibolo Small Animal Hospital is a two‑doctor practice located in Cibolo, Texas, within an hour’s drive of San Antonio and Austin. The practice embraces a small‑town feel while being close to fun nearby towns. The team is passionate about working with new students to help them develop veterinary skills. Responsibilities Gather patient histories Perform physical examinations Create treatment plans Administer diagnostics Provide dentistry services Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures Manage patients medically Practice communication with the medical team, support staff, and clients Externship Details Most externships last between two and eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. To view stipend amounts and program details, refer to the NVA externship stipend list.
