Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive care to childbearing women and newborns in various stages, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. The facility is recognized as an extreme high-risk Level 3 Perinatal Center, where approximately 70% of the patients seen are complex high-risk cases. The facility also houses a Level 4 NICU, serving as a regional center with around 150 births per month.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to childbearing women and newborns throughout their reproductive journey.
• Monitor and assess patients in high-risk scenarios, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Assist in labor and delivery processes, including C-sections and other surgical interventions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using EPIC electronic health records.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in a high-risk environment and managing complex cases.

Additional Information

• Ratios: 1:1 patient care.
• No call requirements.
• Floating within the hospital may be required, but floating to sister hospitals is not permitted.
• Local applicants are welcomed; however, pending licenses are not accepted.
• Maximum one (1) week of restricted time off (RTO) allowed during the contract period.
• Parking is available at a daily charge.
