Summary About the Position: A Supervisory HR Specialist, directly supports the full range of Human Resources services to advise on and/or resolve operational problems which range from recurring through complex and unprecedented for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and is part of the USACE Human Resource Directorate (HRD). - Advises USACE managers and supervisors at all levels to provide expert consulting services on a wide range of complex issues.
- Plans subordinate work activities and performance schedules to establish short-term priorities and ensure the timely completion of all tasks.
- Leverages subordinate supervisors to direct, coordinate, and oversee daily employee work operations and maximize team efficiency.
- Employs advanced technical expertise and customer service skills to advise high-ranking management officials and execute significant leadership responsibilities.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, and actionable recommendations to update key staff elements on program status and facilitate strategic decision-making.
- Conducts systematic evaluation and review studies to continuously assess, interpret, and optimize the overall USACE staffing program.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment may be subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.
- May be subject to a one-year supervisory probation period unless previously completed.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires travel to other duty locations up to 5% of the time.
