Overview This Content Strategist develops social media strategies and content tailored to corporate brand channels and executives within these organizations. Project management skills are critical as this role is responsible for ensuring that all deadlines are met while supporting team members to deliver high-caliber creative concepts, best-in-class analysis of content and engagement performance, and strong social copy for brands and executives. The role is highly visible within the client’s organization and regularly offers strategic counsel on how to optimize social media content to deliver the strongest performance metrics that meet and exceed established KPIs. Success requires creative thinking, exceptional writing, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to turn data-heavy results into compelling insights through regular reporting. Experience with employer brand or executive copywriting is a plus, as is familiarity with paid or influencer social—but not required. Responsibilities Develop social media content plans for clients Identify and develop content for each channel, capturing the appropriate voice and tone for the brand or executive Apply strategic and creative thinking to devise content strategy Manage clients’ social media channels and content calendar; develop timelines, distribute/post content, and manage deadlines Monitor social channels and identify real‑time engagement opportunities via social listening; act upon opportunities Identify negative or risky content and take action to minimize impact to the client Write and edit social copy, translating complex concepts into digestible content across a range of subjects Establish and maintain a client’s or brand’s social media voice and tone; provide feedback to team members as needed Develop content creation best practices and guidelines with internal studio and design teams Compile reports and craft strong executive summaries for senior stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights and trend analyses Understand and use KPIs and social metrics to recommend optimization strategies Plan and execute social strategy across established and emerging platforms to engage relevant audiences Handle multiple projects for diverse clients, traveling to client and event locations as needed Serve as primary client contact, leading calls, meetings, presentations, and brainstorms; attend client events Respond to client requests promptly and share relevant articles and trends with clients Participate in agency brainstorm sessions, committees, projects, and events; assist in case study and award submissions Conduct research for new business and renewal opportunities; stay current with social media developments, trends, and technology updates Demonstrate integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clients Qualifications B.A. in Marketing, Public Relations or related field Three to five years of experience managing brand social channels, including strategy and planning Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprinklr) and social listening/analytics platforms (e.g., NetBase, Radian6, SimplyMeasured) Excellent social-first writing and editing skills Compensation The target base compensation for this role is $70,000–$90,000 annually, with potential overtime pay. Actual compensation depends on skill level, experience, and location.
