Dental AssistantThe Community Health Center of Lockport, located in Lockport, NY, is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide high-quality care to patients following federal, state, and local standards. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the Dentist, performing four-handed dentistry tasks, seating and dismissing patients, sterilizing instruments, taking radiographs, managing inventory, handling basic equipment maintenance, and performing various clerical duties. This role requires maintaining a professional and supportive attitude towards all patients and attending staff meetings.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in a dental officePreferably hold a registered dental assistant certificationResponsibilities:Assist the dentist in various procedures using four-handed dentistry principlesSeat and dismiss patients, maintain cleanliness in the operatory and dental laboratoryClean and sterilize dental instruments, develop radiographsManage inventory of dental supplies, perform laboratory duties, and clerical tasksUtilize computerized systems for patient registration and other clerical proceduresPerform basic equipment maintenance tasks, including changing suction machine filtersRequirements:Ability to work independently and flexiblyExhibit personal integrity and professionalismEffective communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to work with patients from diverse backgroundsCapability to handle physical demands of the role, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reachingSalary:Registered Dental Assistant: $18.78 - $22.46 per hourDental Assistant without certification: $17.78 - $21.46 per hourThe Dental Assistant position is a Union member of 1199 SEIU.Benefits:Competitive pay and benefits for both part-time and full-time employees, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k with a match, tuition assistance, and paid time off.
