MS SQL DBA

Key Responsibilities: Install, configure and setup SQL high availability options (DB clustering, DB Mirroring) on-prem. Manage and monitor the SQL databases on Azure Cloud, SQL Always-On and Clustering. Configure, manage, monitor, and maintain database server performance, health, availability, and security. Upgrade and migrate the MS SQL databases for PLM activities. Analyze the SQL databases for performance tuning recommendations. Refresh lower environments as needed by other teams to facilitate testing and development. Manage and monitor backups to prevent loss of data in the event of a catastrophic failure. Setup SSL encryption on MS SQL server environments using third party certificates. Develop infrastructure, infrastructure tools, and documentation during project phases. Provide application administration and deployment support to the application teams during project phases. Required Skills: 7+ years of experience working with MS SQL Server database platform (Azure and on-prem) 5+ years of experience in the installation, administration, PLM, migration, and patching of MS SQL servers on Windows and Linux operating systems. 5+ years of experience working with medium to large SQL environments. 5+ years of experience providing support with MS SQL server 2012/14/16/19. 3+ years of experience working with different database technologies (MySQL and PostgreSQL), and database architecture designs for stability and high availability. 3+ years of experience supporting and managing Azure Managed instance and Azure SQL database. Preferred Skills: Experience in migrating MS SQL On-Premise databases to Public Cloud. Proven ability to develop automation using PowerShell or Chef. Hands-on PLM experience migrating database to SQL 2019/22. Experience in the installation and configuration of MS SQL server. Health Care Industry experience.
