Quality Engineer

Job DescriptionJob Purpose:The Quality Assurance Engineer develops and implements quality standards for manufacturing processes, including designing inspection methods and performing statistical analyses to ensure product reliability. Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production components and assemblies. Design and/or specify inspection and test methods and equipment.Develop and implement quality assurance test and perform statistical analysis for development & production programs.Lead Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) activities enabling improvements in process control and capability.Initiate and sustain MRB (Material Review Board) process in support of appropriate product disposition.Perform internal and external auditsNothing in this document restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Supervisory Responsibility: NoJob RequirementsQualifications:Knowledge:BS Engineering (BS ME, IE or Chem Eng preferred) *3-5 years’ experience in quality/manufacturing industry using MRP/ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.)2-3 years’ experience in Supplier Quality Management preferredExperience in ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Assurance Systems*7-10 years’ experience in engineering function can substitute for BS degreeSkills:Definition of fundamental product/process design and control plansMeasurement and test methods supporting GD&T, metrology techniquesStatistical analysis (JMP, Minitab) skills with strong attention to detailQuality system, process and product auditingSupplier Quality Management experience given preferenceMSOffice proficient (Excel, PowerPoint and Visio skills required)ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) given preference.AbilitiesProven problem-solving skills in a teamwork setting.Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings, CAD experiences a plus.Lean, Six Sigma, or Process Excellence certification experience preferred.This position requires the ability to meet established near‑vision and color‑vision standards necessary for accurate inspection and product disposition. Employees in this role must be able to distinguish relevant visual details and colors as required to perform inspection activities and verify product conformityWorking Conditions:Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.
