Students in Grades K–12 attend school for 200 instructional days each year and benefit from an extended school day, approximately 60 minutes longer than most traditional public schools. These elements enable MVRCS to deliver on its mission of providing all students with access to a world-class education.

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable K–12 Science Teacher to join our academic team. The Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality science instruction aligned with MVRCS's established curriculum, instructional methodology, and academic expectations.

Teaching assignments will be based on the needs of the school and may include science courses across the elementary, middle, and/or high school grade levels. MVRCS's high school program also includes the rigorous and internationally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and upper-school teaching assignments may include IB coursework depending on the candidate's background and experience.

The ideal candidate is an engaging educator with strong science content knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to helping students develop a strong foundation in scientific concepts, inquiry, and critical thinking.

• Deliver high-quality science instruction in assigned grade levels and courses within Grades K–12

• Implement MVRCS's established science curriculum with fidelity and in accordance with school-wide instructional expectations

• Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons with clear and measurable learning objectives

• Teach assigned classes according to the school's academic schedule and curricular requirements

• Incorporate age-appropriate demonstrations, investigations, experiments, and hands-on learning opportunities to reinforce scientific concepts

• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, meaningful feedback

• Prepare progress reports and report cards in accordance with school expectations

• Administer standardized and school-based assessments as directed by the Science Department Chair and Leadership Team

• Analyze student performance data and adjust instruction to support student growth and achievement

• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, analyze data, share best practices, and strengthen science instruction across grade levels

• Maintain a structured, safe, and academically focused classroom environment using the school's established discipline model

• Ensure the safe and appropriate use of science materials, laboratory equipment, and classroom resources, when applicable

• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership

• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other school-wide initiatives

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Science Department Chair and/or school leadership

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field required

• Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and the ability to effectively communicate them to students

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to plan and deliver instruction aligned with established curriculum and school goals

• Ability to analyze student performance data and adjust instruction accordingly

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Flexibility and willingness to teach science courses based on school and student needs

• Previous teaching experience preferred

• Experience with laboratory-based or hands-on science instruction preferred, particularly for secondary-level assignments

• Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment

• Full-time position

• Teaching assignment will be determined based on school needs and the candidate's qualifications and experience

• Annual appointment with yearly performance evaluation
