Veterinary Diagnostic Technician Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists | Buzzards Bay, MA Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Veterinary Diagnostic Technician to join our talented, cohesive, and compassionate team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting patient care through accurate diagnostics, careful attention to detail, and strong collaboration with doctors, technicians, and clinical teams. At CCVS, our Diagnostic Technicians work closely with the Emergency and Critical Care services as part of an integrated clinical care team. This position supports high-quality diagnostics for triage patients, surgical patients, and hospitalized patients while helping ensure timely results, accurate records, and excellent patient care. About CCVS Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is a growing emergency and specialty referral hospital with locations in Buzzards Bay and Dennis, Massachusetts. As the only emergency and specialty referral hospital serving Cape Cod and the Islands, CCVS is committed to providing gold-standard medicine through collaboration, compassion, and advanced clinical care. Our team includes more than 20 specialists across multiple specialties, including emergency and critical care, internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and exotic medicine. Education and professional growth are central to who we are, with rotating internships, specialty internships, residency programs, technician training, and continuing education built into our culture. CCVS is also in an exciting period of growth. Our hospital expansion, planned for completion in 2027, will approximately double our clinical footprint and allow us to add Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry while expanding existing services. The expansion will also bring advanced diagnostic capabilities, including MRI and fluoroscopy, creating even more opportunity for collaboration, learning, and exceptional patient care. About This Role The Veterinary Diagnostic Technician plays an important role in supporting patient care across the hospital. This position works hands-on with laboratory diagnostics, radiology, CT, sample processing, and medical record documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced hospital environment, and committed to supporting both patients and clinical teams. Responsibilities include but are not limitedt to:- Running in-house laboratory samples for triage, surgery, and hospitalized patients
- Processing samples for outside laboratory submission
- Assisting with blood bank responsibilities
- Recording diagnostic results accurately in the patient medical record
- Helping obtain samples by assisting veterinary technicians and clinical team members
- Setting up and performing patient radiographs
- Submitting radiographs online for interpretation
- Printing radiology reports each morning
- Entering radiology reports into patient records
- Running CT studies on patients
- Cleaning and stocking multiple diagnostic areas within the hospital
- Supporting patient flow and communication between diagnostic areas and clinical teams
- Previous veterinary hospital experience preferred
- Experience with in-house laboratory equipment, radiology, or diagnostic workflows strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Comfort working with emergency, critical care, and specialty patients
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach
- Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative specialty and emergency hospital environment
- This is a full time position.
- The schedule includes day and swing shifts, with weekend shifts and a holiday rotation.
- Pay Range: $20–$24/hour
Compensation is based on experience, expertise, credentials, schedule, and overall alignment with the role. Most new hires can expect an offer between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
