We are driven to innovate with a clear purpose in mind: to revolutionize the future of foodservice.As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for executing small design projects or supporting complex projects with 3D CAD, dimensioned drawings and schematics, bill of material management, and PCR/PCN execution. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams to perform technical analysis and reviews and oversee the application of critical learnings and environmental factors in the design of equipment. In this role, you will serve as an expert in the design and functionality of our equipment and contribute significantly to MFT’s growth and innovation.This role is subject to our hybrid work model: we collaborate in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The rest of the week, you have flexibility to work wherever it suits you best.What You’ll DoContribute to complex product development programs by creating 3D CAD designs, dimensioned engineering drawings, bills of material, schematics of parts and assemblies, and execute changes through the PCR/PCN processLead design process methodologies like Failure Mode Analysis, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Reliability with cross-functional teamsConduct technical analyses and reviews with cross-functional support and apply the findings to improve the quality and reliability of our designsPartner with the team on 8D issue resolution programsDevelop technical drawings, models, and specifications using engineering software and tools and update them according to findings from reviews, simulations, testing, and field trials.Develop expertise in the environmental factors, use cases, and consumer values of our equipment, and apply them to the design workIdentify areas for improvement in the design process, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive best practices for our design teamLead collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are metMonitor and apply the latest industry design tools and master advanced skills such as surfacing, modelling and referencing of large assemblies, plastic part design for thermoforming or injection molding, and metals design for casting or stampingActively participate in continuous learning and professional development activities, including attending training programs, and bring learnings to our team by hosting workshops or mentoring team membersWho You AreIndependent Self-Starter: Takes prompt, proactive action to accomplish work goals with limited oversightCollaborative Partner: Uses interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with cross-functional teamsStrategic Thinker: Relies on analytical and problem-solving skills to think strategically and execute tacticallyClear Communicator: Speaks and writes effectively to convey technical information, project requirements, and progress updates to team members and stakeholdersSkills/Experience We’re Looking ForExpertise in CAD software for models, schematics, drawings, and bills of materialSpecialized skills in multiple areas such as tubing and wiring, surfacing, referencing, GD&T, and complex part designExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in workEffective communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearlyAbility to effectively leverage AI tools to improve design / development efficiencyAbility to train and mentor less experienced employeesAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentRequired Qualifications7+ years of relevant experience in a CAD Designer role5+ years of experience in consumer goods, or commercial foodservice fieldsBenefitsWe support your well-being with comprehensive and easy-to-use benefits that you’ll be eligible to enroll in on your first day of employment.
