Production Planner

The role of the Production Planner involves gathering and analyzing information from various departments to ensure seamless operations. You will be responsible for obtaining instructions, drawings, specifications, schedules, invoices, and flow charts from Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting, Programs, Logistics, Quality Assurance, and Contracts. The Planner will communicate essential information to supervisors, peers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, email, or in person, while maintaining updated records in SharePoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze information from departments such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering.
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through multiple communication channels.
  • Attend meetings to provide updates and track status in SharePoint.
  • Use computer systems including email, MS Office, and ERP systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Develop and prioritize goals and plans to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Forecast and determine material purchase requirements.
  • Monitor and report costs and schedule status.
  • Identify and troubleshoot earned value status on programs.
  • Interpret contract provisions impacting material planning.
  • Perform follow-up and expedite necessary information.
  • Monitor and review materials during production and lead cleanup efforts.
  • Analyze work problems and develop control feedback procedures.

Essential Skills:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
  • Two years of experience in manufacturing, planning, or inventory control preferred.

Work Environment:

  • This position is fully onsite, providing a hands-on approach to managing and organizing work.
  • This would be working a 4/80 schedule, which provides you an off Friday, every other week.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Elizabeth City, NC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
