Clinical Pharmacist – Day Shift Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts) Schedule: Includes weekends Weekly Hours: 40 hours Contract Length: 24 weeks Pay Rate: $70–$75/hour Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to support medication management and pharmaceutical care in a patient-centered environment serving neonatal through adult populations. This role focuses on ensuring safe, accurate, and effective medication therapy while minimizing medication-related risks. Key Responsibilities Review and verify all medication orders for: Appropriate drug selection, dosing, and frequency Patient-specific factors including weight, body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions Accurately enter medication orders into the system Ensure medications are dispensed correctly and on time Prepare and compound sterile products using aseptic technique Enforce infection control standards within the pharmacy Monitor for and prevent medication errors and adverse drug events Participate in patient and caregiver education regarding medication therapy Conduct discharge medication reconciliation and counseling Maintain accurate documentation for investigational drugs and clinical studies Support the overall pharmacy workflow and supervise technicians Ensure communication checks (email, voicemail, internal systems) are completed each shift Clinical Focus Areas Medication safety and error prevention Sterile compounding and aseptic technique Patient counseling and discharge education Clinical study participation and documentation Infection prevention and quality standards Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD Active Pharmacist License (State of Texas) – unrestricted Proficiency in sterile compounding Strong clinical knowledge and medication management skills Ability to provide age-appropriate care across all patient populations Required Skills Medication order verification and processing Sterile product preparation and compounding Aseptic technique and infection control compliance Patient counseling and education Drug interaction and dosage evaluation Pharmacy operations and workflow management *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
