OBJECTIVE

The Sales Associate/Cashier (CSR) is responsible for assisting customers at Ace Hardware in all areas, most importantly establishing and maintaining customer relations by engaging with them, determining their needs and project requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Associate/Cashier (CSR) will assist customers in a positive manner that promotes a favorable image of the cooperative and serves the needs of the customer. The primary responsibilities of the position include:

• Greet all customers as they enter the location with a friendly attitude
• Serve our customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Actively engages in cross-selling other products to customers to satisfy the customers' needs and obtain our internal goals.
• Promote a positive culture by cooperating with others as part of our retail team.
• Operate a cash register/credit card terminal and accurately count/handle money transactions.
• Assists customers with questions, locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information
• Perform duties related to opening and closing the store for business.
• Duties may include securing all cash and credit cards and operating the security system.
• Prepare routine daily shift reports.
• Help unload incoming trucks and perform stocking/restocking duties within the store as needed.
• Perform indoor/outdoor housekeeping and maintenance duties to include, but not limited to shoveling snow, sweeping/mopping, emptying trash and general cleaning of restrooms/shower and lounge areas (where applicable).
• Reports to work at the assigned/scheduled time.
• Performs other duties as required by the Management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience Required:

Previous experience in retail us a plus but not required.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Must be patient and helpful to exceed the customer's expectations.
• Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
• Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written directions in regards to paperwork and daily reporting.
• Knowledgeable about company's products and services, and customer-related policies.
• Must be able to lift, twist, bend, stoop, squat, stand, reach, pull, push and lift overhead.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of ten (10) pounds frequently and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
• Must be patient and helpful to exceed the customer's expectations.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to work a variety of shifts including days, nights and weekends which will include primarily
