SAS Sr Category Analyst

Summary The SAS Sr Category Analyst supports Category Merchandising Teams by developing and delivering reports and analyses on merchandising, pricing, financials, and customer behavior. Working within platforms, the Analyst optimizes assortment and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure alignment with Category Directors and manufacturer goals, focusing on schematic assortments and maintaining product assortments using software programs for assigned categories. Responsibilities Achieve deliverables according to brand timeline for assortment creation, partnering with other departments on said deliverables. Assist Category Managers in tailoring assortment specific to each market, accommodating regional/local items, unique clusters, and assessing set sizes while following national guardrails. Report data errors to the appropriate party for resolution and provide assortment analytics to supporting departments. Help Category Managers understand store space limitations and develop innovative solutions to meet company objectives. Monitor store scanning and continuously evaluate each step in the process for opportunity, including POS‑reset analysis to check performance of implemented changes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job‑related experience (required). 4–6 years of experience with planograms or floorplans. Experience with analysis in a professional setting. Experience in merchandising is a plus. Knowledge of industry products and space‑planning processes. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and customer teams. Thrives in a deadline‑driven environment and is highly organized. Strong ability to draw insights that influence decisions and drive results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Intellectually curious, eager to solve problems, quick learner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
