About This Role

We are seeking a passionate early childhood educator to join our Bridgewater Community Childcare team. As a Reggio inspired, nature and play based licensed childcare center, we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum that align with early learning standards.
  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication, observations, and conferences to ensure a smooth partnership.
  • Create a warm and inclusive classroom environment that fosters social-emotional growth and learning.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Accurately maintain records, forms, and files, and perform opening and closing duties to ensure a seamless daily operation.
  • Engage in professional dialogue with the Childcare Executive Director, staff, and parents to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Adhere to all center policies, state regulations, and staff handbooks to maintain a high standard of quality care.
  • Attend regular staff meetings to stay informed and contribute to decision-making.
  • Meet and exceed the requirements outlined in Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations and staff handbooks to ensure compliance and excellence.
  • Prioritize the well-being and development of the whole child.

Requirements

Teacher Associate: The ideal candidate must be at least twenty (20) years of age, a high school graduate or have completed a GED, and meet one of the following qualifications:

  • at least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three certificate;
  • at least an associate degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services and at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger;
  • at least a Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program;
  • at least a Child Care Certificate form the Community College of Vermont and at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger;
  • at least successful completion of twenty-one college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger.

Teacher: The ideal candidate must be at least twenty (20) years of age and meet one of the following qualifications:

  • at least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four A or B certificate;
  • at least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, Special Education with a birth to eight years of age focus, or Child and Family Services at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or young;
  • at least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with at least successful completion of thirty college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or young;
  • hold at least a current Vermont Agency of Education teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education.
